Hello George! First of all, that was an excellent guess haha - I am an Aries yes. Also thanks for the constant comments and for reading my posts [ I have been away for a while, so my apologies for not replying sooner!].

For us in Lebanon - and sadly the Lebanese abroad - religion is what dictates every aspect of their life, and just like you said, it doesn't come from their own understanding of "religion" but instead what they are "spoon-fed". I come from a inter-religious family... my father is "Muslim" my mother is "Druze", so I grew up having a different perspective on religion.

In my eyes - at the end of the day the principles of all the religions in our country are the same, the rules are ultimately identical and so on and so on. Why not get over the small differences and look at the bigger picture: One People!

You MUST be an Aries :-) Real good stuff, always a REAL pleasure to read everything by you and SPECIFICALLY posts related to religion and culture! You see it so beautifully and so balanced.

I was talking to some friends of mine here (both Chritsians and Muslims) and their view on religion seem is more of spoon-fed / boring / fear / based on how their elementary school mustachoied-nuns presented it to them.

If only most people saw religion the way you did, as a beautiful expression of philosophy and local culture, our region would be a MUCH better place!
